Everyday street French is more rapid and careless with much slang and slurring of words.
So as an experiment to help more advanced users to more easily comprehend modern everyday French we are presenting Le Cyclist often using ‘on’ for ‘nous’ and dropping the negative 'ne', at their usual speaking speed and with a slang and style that comes naturally, but keeping the original literal meaning.
Subject to feedback we could write or rewrite other stories in the same way. This would be an additional stage in learning. We don’t want to make learning French more difficult. If you simply want to learn proper written and spoken French but not to travel and mix with French people then maybe this stage is unnecessary.
